IPA Innovation Award 2008 for Hoffmann’s Twistline can At its latest General Assembly in March 2008 the International Packaging Association (IPA) presented its second Innovation Award. It recognises the group’s most innovative and attractive metal can development of the last year. The 13 IPA associates selected from several proposals the Twistline can of the Swiss Company Hoffmann Neopac as the award winner. The Twistline can is a new style pocket tin with a sliding plastic cover for the premium confectionary market. It is characterized by a sleek and modern form. Twistline is the first permanently seamed round can. Top and bottom are stamped simultaneously in a fully automated in-line assembly. The filling is done from the top through a customer-specific opening, when fully pre-assembled. The new technology is very efficient and allows for various different customer solutions regarding range of diameters, tin shapes and plastic closures. The International Packaging Association unites major independent metal packaging companies from four continents. Its mission is to secure the global information exchange between independent canmakers worldwide and to enhance the technical and environmental expertise of each company.
