IPA Innovation Award 2009 for HUBER Packaging
2009-10-05
At the 56th General Assembly in London in June the International Packaging Association (IPA) has presented the 3rd Innovation Award for the groups’ most innovative and attractive metal can development of the last year.
The group selected the 5 litre easyKEG IPS with integrated pressure system of HUBER Packaging Group from Germany. The inside pressure system regulates the CO2 pressure after the system is activated by the consumer. Thus the beer is kept fresh up to 30 days after first tapping from the reclosable tap and the consumer can enjoy fresh draught beer without any additional equipment. The HUBER easyKEG IPS is easy to use, clean and safe, easy to store, and 100% recyclable.
For consumer convenience HUBER offers the additional products Keg’n’Carry, a handle to place on the keg, and HUBER easyCOOL, an EPP box to keep the party keg cool.
The runner-up in the IPA Innovation Award 2009 was Brasilata’s new development of the 18 litre rectangular can for dangerous goods. This development is a brilliant, innovative example for containers that demonstrate an improved performance with lower thickness and thus lower weight of the packaging.
The International Packaging Association unites major independent metal packaging companies from four continents. Its mission is to secure the global information exchange between independent canmakers worldwide and to enhance the technical and environmental expertise of each company.
